YARRA RIVER - DOCKLANDS

Location: Docklands.

Directions: Go down past the restaurants and apartments to the end of the concrete peir, then cast under the wooden pylons on the right.

Type of water: Estuary.

Type of fishing: Pier.

Target fish: Bream.

Best times: I've caught fish here all through the day, but early morning is the best.

Tackle: Running sinker.

Baits: Crab, worm, Bass yabby, freshwater yabby, chicken.

Best spots: Under the pier.

Long shot: Mulloway, trevally, tailor, mullet, snapper.

Parking: There is pay by the hour, or you can drive up and park under the Bolte Bridge and walk back about 200 metres.

Safety: (No info supplied.)

Amenities: All except barbecue.

Kids: Yes.

Pets: Yes.

Last word: It's a great spot and I've caught heaps of bream there, the biggest is 43cm. Try it out.
