As fishos, being comfortable in all weather conditions is a must and during a Victorian winter the average fisho may have to sit out for hours upon hours in rain, wind, sleet and snow just to catch a fish or two.

This recent winter I have experienced some truly magical fishing during times of turbulent weather and having the right clothing for these conditions is a must. This winter I have been testing the Helly Hansen Packable Jacket (pictured below) which has kept me dry during the wettest of days.

I have put this jacket through its paces all winter in some very testing conditions. The Helly Hansen Packable Jacket has allowed me to stay dry, warm and catch more fish.

The Helly Tech fabric is fully water proof and breathable and has Helly’s Watertight Technology®. Breath-ability is a must to keep to warm and dry when spending the day casting lures and flies or walking the banks of your favorite river or stream. The breathable fabric is custom formulated to maximize vapor transfer, allowing perspiration to escape. This is perfect for situations where you have a period of intense activity (i.e. hauling one in) where you will sweat, followed by a long wait for the next bit of action. Traditional waterproof fabrics will trap the sweat, so when things settle down again, you are left damp and cold. This jacket will keep you dry inside and out.

The pockets all have zips to secure valuables such as mobile phones and car keys and the modern design means the jacket can be worn around town. Packs down into its own pocket to a size small enough to be stored easily in the boat or backpack, ready for whenever you need it.
