Threatened Species

The Flora and Fauna Guarantee (FFG) Act 1988 lists threatened fish, including crustacea, which may not be taken, traded or kept without a licence, permit or authorisation issued under the Act. A Recreational Fishing Licence does not permit the taking of FFG listed species.

No listed species of fish, invertebrates or other organisms listed as threatened under the Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act 1988, or species listed under the Wildlife Act 1975, may be taken for use as fishing bait without a licence, permit or authorisation issued under these acts.
