THE CLUB
Our first constituted meeting was held on 28/10/1960.
The foundation members started the club with the ideas of companionship with people of a common interest and the development of fishing for families and juniors also to partake in responsible fishing practices. Fun was their ultimate aim.
The club has always been a general fishing club and has enjoyed all facets of fishing. Points and handicaps were introduced so all members have an equal chance to even the competition. Points are awarded for all trips and the individual has never been pressured to be competitive.
Each year just before our Annual General Meeting, in May, we open it up to all members to make their suggestions of where and what they would like to fish for. The committee collates the information and releases the syllabus in June.
Meetings are held at 7.30pm on the 3rd Monday of each month, Visitors welcome. December, the meeting is held on the 2nd Monday and is the Christmas celebration.
Meetings vary and are informative with guest speakers, videos, activities and social events. Once again members are encourage to suggest topics for meetings.
