Backwinder re-invents the reel

Backwinder has re-invented flyfishing with its ultra-modern, super-tough fly reels. Manufactured in Norway, the unique design is based around providing unsurpassed performance on powerful fish such as Atlantic salmon, sea trout and wild brown trout – making the reels equally suitable for targeting many Australian species.

Available in two models – Trout II (3-6wt, weighing 112g) and Seatrout (5-9wt, weighing 145g), each reel consists of just seven parts and is virtually indestructible.

Both reels are precision machined from anodised aircraft aluminium and feature V-walled spools (supported on synthetic, tracked, acid-resistant bearings), which ensure pressure on the line is distributed towards the sides of the spool, preventing line cutting down on itself and providing extremely smooth operation.

The open-centred spool design, which incorporates the over-run brake, allows accurate drag pressure to be applied with either hand, as well as creates the distinctive, futuristic appearance that further sets Backwinder reels from the pack.

Finished in aluminium, champagne or midnight blue colours, these super-lightweight, corrosion-resistant reels perfectly complement today’s high-performance fly rods, and will handle a host of freshwater and saltwater species from trout to bonefish.
