MUSTAD’S ‘DEEP V’ NATURAL BAIT HOOK

Mustad’s new Deep V is a big hook for natural baits.  It is light enough to take quite delicate baits but still strong enough to handle hard pulling fish, so it is well suited to heavy fishing for mulloway, snapper, dhufish, reef species and the like.

The Mustad Deep V achieves good strength without excessive wire thickness. This is due to Mustad’s state-of-the-art manufacturing including the latest heat treatment techniques, but also due to the narrow,

V-shaped bend which enhances strength. This is based on a design successfully used in many commercial tuna hook patterns.

Mustad’s Deep V features Ultra Point, Mustad’s unique process making chemically sharpened Needle Points more resistant to bending and breakage. It has a black nickel finish,  turned-back eye and slightly offset point. It is sold as part of Mustad’s ‘Pro Select’ range of  special sportfishing hooks.

The choice in chemically sharpened large bait fishing hooks is limited at present. Mustad’s Deep V will greatly improve the choice for anglers as a step up from older style heavy suicide and kirby hooks.  The Mustad Deep V is sized from 10/0 down to 2/0 and sold in special box packs.
