Okuma EFS-80 high speed spinning reel

Okuma's popular "Epix" range of spinning reels has gained additional models, including the high-speed EFS-80.

With a 6.3:1 gear ratio, large line capacity, and Okuma's robust construction it's sure to be popular with anglers who enjoy high speed spinning for pelagics.

The drive train has nine sealed bearings for ultra smooth retrieves, plus an anti-reverse bearing to give instant hook ups without any backward turn of the handle.

Okuma's RES (rotor equalising system) and a brass pinion gear enhance the silky smooth retrieve, and the large "one touch" handle and soft grip make continuous high speed retrieves easy.

A vented aluminium spool is reinforced with stainless steel and the powerful front drag is constructed with Okuma's EDS design. This allows considerably more drag surface area delivering a smoother drag than comparable reels of this size.

An additional spool comes with the reel. Both have capacities that are more than adequate - 365m of 7kg, 300m of 10kg and 220m of 12kg.

Okuma have also added the EF-80 to their Epix range. This reel has every quality feature of the EFS-80 but a slower (and very powerful) 4.5:1 gear ratio.
