OKUMA "CATALINA" STAR DRAG REELS

There are three varieties of Okuma's Catalinas, their latest release of high performance reels for blue water fishing. Catalinas are a blend of proven traditional design with the latest technology and will interest all keen offshore anglers.

The standard model (CT-55C) has a 4.0:1 gear ratio and a capacity of 560 metres of 12KG line or 390 metres of 20KG. Its specifications include stainless steel gears, machined one piece frame construction, three stainless steel ball bearings, strike alarm ratchet, infinite anti-reverse,and a powerful
Rulidium drag system operated by a star wheel with fine click adjustment.

Lever change is used to access free spool, and the gears can be engaged with the lever or by turning the handle. A very handy feature is Okuma's SLG - speed lock gearing which permits the reel to be shifted from free spool into gear with fish running at extremely high speeds without gear failure.

Level Wind Catalinas have all the features of the standard reel and are available in three sizes. The smallest (CT-15L) has a 5.1:1 gear ratio and a capacity of 340 metres of 4KG line or 220 metres of 6KG. Larger level wind reels have 4.0:1 gear ratios and spool capacities up to 300 metres of 15KG.

The CT-CS series consists of three high speed models with gear ratios of 6.3:1, spools of similar capacity to the level wind reels, and all the specifications of the standard model.

All reels in this series come with a rod clamp, oil bottle, and a five year warranty with nation wide spare parts service. Catalina reels are available from fishing tackle retailers throughout Australia and are very good value for money.
