"SALINA" SPINNING REELS
The new Okuma "Salina" spinning reels have been designed
with a very powerful drive system. The main gear is helical
cut from high density material 50% stronger than standard
gearing, and combines with a machine cut brass pinion gear
to produce a drive train that is smooth, efficient, and ideal for
tough fishing conditions.
Salina reels have a dual force drag system incorporating oiled
felt washers. A multi-disk drag in the front of the spool works
in conjunction with a secondary drag at the back of the spool
to maximise high drag pressures and give a smooth release of
line.
Other features are an oversized bail arm, elliptical oscillation
for improved line lay, 4 corrosion resistant stainless bearings
and a quick set anti-reverse roller bearing. Okuma's "Hydro
Block" seal protects the drag system from moisture.
The frame, side plate and rotor are rigid diecast aluminum
and the forged aluminum screw-in handle has an oversize
grip. Okuma's Rotor Equalizing System guarantees a smooth
retrieve.
The Salina series consists of six models from the SA-30 (170
metres of 2KG line) up to the SA-80 (275 metres of 12KG).
The SA-30 and 40 have 5.0:1 gearing, larger models are 4.5:1.
Dual Force Drags and High Density Gearing are designed for
long tussels with hard fighting fish. They are ideal for braided
line and equally suitable for monofilament.
Salina reels have the added advantage of a nation wide spare
parts service and Okuma's lifetime guarantee, making them
excellent value for money.
