FROM THE OFFICE OF VRFISH – VICTORIA’S RECREATIONAL FISHING PEAK BODY

17 October 2007

MINISTER DROPS IN A FISHING LINE

Minister Joe Helper officially launches the VRFish Fishing Lines Magazine.

VRFish was proud to have their new-look Fishing Lines Magazine launched by the
Minister responsible for Fisheries, Joe Helper on 17 October 2007 at Marine House.

Minister Helper said “The Brumby Government has committed a $42 million package of
initiatives to get more Victorians fishing and boating and Fishing Lines will help
communicate these initiatives. I am pleased to officially launch the VRFish Fishing Lines
magazine”.

Fishing Lines is a great way for the Victorian Recreational Fishing Peak Body to communicate with Victoria’s recreational fishers to let them know what interesting
changes or topics are happening in the world of recreational fishing.

Boating launching facilities are a hot topic for VRFish at the moment, and VRFish highlights some of the problems facing boat owners and the urgent need to improve boat
launching facilities right across Victoria.

‘Philosophy of an angler’, by Steve Cooper, is a great article delving into the life of a dedicated fisher. Fishing Lines also includes VRFish’s 2006-2007 Annual Report.

Fishing Lines will be available at the Melbourne Fishing Show, Melbourne Exhibition
Centre – 25 to 28 October, so come along and pick up a copy from the VRFish stand.
