FISHING EXPO, 20 – 21 SEPTEMBER

FESTIVAL OF FISHING 2008

If you want to Get Into Fishing – then make your way to the Festival of Fishing’s FISHING EXPO in Lakes Entrance, 20–21 September.

Experience the delights and diversity of fishing in East Gippsland as you wander amongst the indoor Expo sites at Mechanics Hall, Lakes Entrance.

Displays and demonstrations from fishing clubs, tackle stores, environment groups and tour operators will introduce everyone to what fishing and East Gippsland has to offer.

Entry to the Fishing Expo is free, and there will be something to interest every angler.

Timed to coincide with the school holidays, the NINE day Festival of Fishing, based in Lakes Entrance, Victoria has a packed program of fishing activities, events, seminars and fieldtrips.

Then each weekday from Monday 22nd to Friday 26th September anglers can choose to join in a variety of free events including ‘Fishing for Beginners’ workshops with Fishcare and angling clubs or discovery walks along the coast, or hop aboard a fishing trip or eco tour on one of the amazing lakes of East Gippsland.

In the evening the program continues with slide shows, seminars, and fishing and tackle demonstrations.

Expand your fishing horizons, have a go at bream fishing, surf fishing or soft plastics!

And if that is not enticing enough, the Festival will conclude with a chance to try out your newly gained skills and tackle at the Festival Fishing Competition – where you can fish river, lake or surf!

BOOK NOW by visiting or phoning Lakes Entrance or Bairnsdale Visitor Information Centres on 1800 637 060.

This amazing week of fishing is brought to you by Fishcare East Gippsland inc and is supported by Tourism Victoria, East Gippsland Shire, and East Gippsland Catchment Management Authority.

Mark it in your diaries – Festival of Fishing, 20 – 28 September, 2008.  Keep updated on all Fishcare events at the Fishcare website www.fishcare.org.au.
