Fishcare Victoria takes a fresh approach as the Local Fish in
Focus project forges inland
Want to know more about the freshwater fish that you can catch in Central Highlands Region of
Victoria?
Fishcare Victoria has just released three new 'Local Fish in Focus' brochures as part of a $29,050
Commonwealth Recreational Fishing Community Program Grant titled 'Fishcare forges inland'.
The educational products focus on the popular redfin, brown trout and rainbow trout.
The full colour A4 illustrated brochures help to provide a better understanding of the recreational
significance, biology and habitat of some of the more popular recreational target species in the
Central Highlands Region, including specific information on fishing techniques, tackle, bait and
fishing regulations. There are also some handy hints for increasing released fish survival.
You can download a pdf file or request to be sent a copy of these brochures and other Fishcare
publications on the Fishcare website by logging onto www.fishcare.org.au
