Well the Easter Bunny is on its way and that's all good and well for the Kiddies, but for the Fisho's there are also a few Fish getting about.
For those Pier Rats out there Mornington has been producing Kingfish, Squid, Garfish and Whiting. The best times have been early morning of in the afternoon.
The Rock platforms on the Mornington Mt Martha are have been seeming good catches of Salmon, Squid, whiting and Pinkies. The Best bait has been Muscles.
Schnapper Point Boat Hire Clients have had a good week with a lot of Whiting, Pinkies, Flathead and Salmon getting Caught as well as a few Squid to well over 1 kg. The best bait for the Whiting and Pinkies has been Muscles and the Squid have been caught on 2.5 size Prawn Jigs.
Mornington Boat Ramp has seen a few Snapper to 4kg, heaps of Whiting, Pinkies and Flathead. The best places for a Snapper are the Spoil Grounds off Mt Martha, with the Snapper are also a few good Gummies. While the Snapper are far from "On" there are a few fish about, so put in the time and with any luck the fish will commit the crime!
I Fished out the 70m line in Bass Straight off Seal Rock during the week and managed to bag a 35kg Mako and an 8kg Gummy. Burley is by far the key. The Mako took a fresh piece of Salmon. Out in the "Blue" there are also some Arrow Squid, Flathead and Couta. There are reports of Mako's of over 100kg so hang on and be Safe!

Yesterday I fished off Cows and managed a few good Pinkies to 1.5kg, Mackerel to 1kg and a 7-8 foot long Wobbegong! Check out the set of chompers on it! He was released unharmed to keep the bottom fish on their tows!

Only a short report this week, have a good Easter and drive and fish safely.
Tight Lines and Blue Skies,
Paul
