Seeking baits and mulloway tips for Barwon Heads...
Daniel writes:
I'm looking for some advice on where to find fresh baits and best baits to use in the Barwon Heads river/bay area.I would also like to know the best times to fish these areas and any tips that may help in my quest to catch my first mulloway. Good fishing to all.

Erick replies:
The best bait so far on Barwon Heads is still pippies and whitebait.

You can pump Bass yabbies on the sand bank that's between the Ozone pier and the Sheepwash. Park on the little clearing between the riverfront mansions. You can just walk through knee-deep water at low tide. There are plenty of amall whiting and I have been catching one or two from size 40cm and the odd bream and trevally. For a fishing trip it's a beautiful place, especially at this time of year, and plenty of varieties to chase.
