What's the best way to berley in the surf?

Jarred Kelly writes:
What is the best way to berley in the surf for salmon tailor and any smaller baitfish around, and how often should you do it? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks, Jarred.

Peter Jolly replies:
Fishframes in an onion bag on the waves edge works OK. You need to put a peg in the sand, to keep it from going out, tied to a rope. It swings from side to side breaking up the berley that you are using. Remember, the water that comes in has to go out, when it does your berley will be with it.
