Promotion of phone number needed...

Bob Meeuwissen writes:
It seems all boat ramps up North have a 1800 FishWatch number so the public can inform fishing authorities on illegal fishing activities. Why shouldn't Victoria have this deterrent?

fishvictoria replies:
Hi Bob, the number to call in Victoria is 136 186. Not sure how well this is promoted at actual boat ramps, etc.

Mark Bolger replies:
G'day Bob, I've been bemoaning this fact to the NRE Mornington crew for some time now! Finally, some action is on the way! Gippsland Fishcare Volunteers have been armed with plenty of business-sized cards containing the Fisheries number on it. It's still on the drawing board here in Port Phillip, but it will come out. In the mean time, all we can do is store the number in our mobile phones! Cheers, Mark.
