Undersize fish dumped at Port Franklin

Just a short note to inform you that there is a shitload of undersized trevally being dumped at Port Franklin jetty almost on a weekly basis. The pro-fisher concerned seines up his catch and then returns to port and sorts his ill-gotten gains for all to see.

I defy the sender of this most serious accusation to endevour to provide evidence of his claims, and also to provide adequete information to show that actual harm to fishing stocks is being done. The fishing and aquaculture industry in Port Franklin is isolated and unique, a fact many weekend warriors fail to realise. Unfounded claims such as the above merely serve to provide public misinformation. Shame, shame, sh... whatever. (27 September 2002)
