Location: Acheron River, Buxton Time: 12.35pm-4pm
Type of Water: River Type of Fishing: Wading
Target Fish: Trout
Bait\Lure\Fly: Celta lure
Fish Caught: 11 x rainbow trout @ too small
Comments: After fishing the Goulburn in the morning I got to the Acheron to find 3 cars there. Decided to wade up river spinning. Unbelieveable, not much water but was alive with small trout, I even landed one about 2 inches long, if this is the result of closed seasons I'm all for it. All fish returned to river. Great day all around.

Location: Acheron River, Buxton Time: 3pm-4.30pm
Type of Water: River Type of Fishing: Shore
Target Fish: Brown and rainbow trout
Bait\Lure\Fly: Maggots, scrub, worms
Fish Caught: 3 x rainbow trout @ undersize
Comments: Called in at the river on the way home only because I had some maggots left, I had a small trout on as soon as the berley cage hit the bottom, landed two other small fish almost at once, rounded off a great day. The river was a little bit dirty due to the rain. Tight lines everyone.

Type of Water: River Type of Fishing: Shore
Target Fish: Trout

Type of Water: River Type of Fishing: Shore
Target Fish: Trout

Comments: Fished the Acheron and Goulburn junction. Few bites, appeared to be spooked by all the platypus activity.

1 & 5 September 2000, Stuart
Location: Acheron River,
Buxton to Thornton
Time: 1am-3.30am.
4.30pm-8pm
Type of Water: River Type of Fishing: Shore
Target Fish: Trout
Bait\Lure\Fly: Maggots, scrub worms
Fish Caught: 1 x Blackfish @ 25cm
Comments: No fish caught in morning of 1 September; saw another angler land a small brown trout which was in very poor condition. Blackfish caught and released in early evening of 5 September on scrub worm - healthy looking fish. (Personal fishing ethic to release all native fish.)

16 December 2000, Llew Stephens
Location: Acheron, Rubicon Time: 9am-2pm
Type of Water: river Type of Fishing: shore
Target Fish: Trout/Salmon
Bait\Lure\Fly: Rapalla and Celta
Fish Caught: 8 x Trout @ Small
Comments: Hooked up and lost 1 good fish in the Rubicon. 1 other good size followed but all in all the Rubicon was disappointing and decidedly lacking in fish. The Acheron at Buxton held several small fish - all too small to keep. A hot 33 C day with clear water and bright skies. The Buxton pub provided its usual good lunch. A good day had by all - no snakes sighted.
