was in the yak section of the Big Catch Comp but could only manage salmon, hardly anyone caught bream. One guy caught a 41cm bream and a few smaller ones under 15cm were being caught but that was it. 14k's of yakking for no bream but at least it's a nice spot. I also got a few salmon from the banks too. Lots of other yak and boat fishermen out for the comp since it was very windy.

Spent the long weekend down in Johanna and took the wife out fishing for a couple of hrs. After spending an hour sitting in the cold rain, we only had one salmon to show for it. Good thing is she caught it, so she didn't mind the rain that much. Will freeze it for bait for our next outing. |

It was a good day, we had tried a few days before hand and nothing, but then we finally got something. We also went surf fishing on the beach here. |

Went to Aire River and fished just downstream from the highway bridge to see if any trout were biting but did not see or catch any. However, much to my surprise I had some of the best bream fishing ever, I didn't think the bream came so far up the river. Went down the Hordern Vale Road to the Aire crossing but not much happening in the lake/estuary, crossed the old wooden bridge and followed the track a couple of km but no luck there. Anyway it was a good couple of days, will try again in spring and try to land some of those great trout that inhabit the area.
