Throughout the 3 days I spent fishing around the rocks, the river and pier, the fishing was very average. Got a few bream and mullet in the river, just the 1 good salmon from the rocks. |

The sea was flat thus we were able to get in close at Kennett River, due to no swell. The fish went ballistic for an hour, there were some thumpers in there too, top quality fishing.
Cheers Noel. |

We fished the out going tide for a few hours. At first very quiet but once the berley started doing its job the big bites started. They put up a great fight and we landed them all. Method-paternoster rig, size 2 long shank hooks-baited with pipi and whitebait pieces together as a cocktail (works great). Cheers Tony. |

Fished the incoming tide with a good swell and good water movement. The pinkies were on the bite for about 30 minutes on dusk. Had a massive hit with something and fought it for about 10 minutes. Could not land it. Probably not a ray because it moved too quickly. Let it run for a bit, pulled it back and so on. Lost it about 20m out after it broke a 30kg line with a wire trace. Rocks under caravan park best at dusk with a good swell and you need to cast out towards exposed reef into sandy spots. |

Back to this beach again to try my luck, top weekend and lots of fish, but nothing big. All pan size, but non stop action. Could have caught truck loads if you wanted. My nephew caught about the same amount of fish, another angler caught two big gummys one night. The camp site was free! There is a toilet block as well. It's a good place to go with a bunch of mates and no one to bother you. Make sure you bring your own water as the water in the toilet block is unfiltered and pumped from the underground creek. Winter will bring back those huge monster salmon again, might see you there, and remember take only enough fish for yourselves. |

A good start at 8am, caught all fish before 9am then only nibbles most likely by the small salmon. Then it started to blow a strong breeze. We released all fish back to the water and had a good time anyway. |
