With the water dropping so quickly over the past month the inevitable has happened. A blue green algae outbreak. Gates are locked so you can't enter. A long way to drive from Bacchus Marsh just to find it was closed. So another water becomes unfishable and can be added to a lengthening list. Boy do we need rain and lots of it. |

They predicted bad weather and they were right. A howling westerly and plenty of rain. Only the one trout but a tiny redfin took my mudeye every cast. Couldn't keep a bait out for more than a couple of minutes. Very difficult and uncomfortable couple of hours. |

North easterly blowing and sunny. Caught the two trout early then the tiny redfin came on. Must have caught over 20 before I gave it up and came home. Got sick of feeding them my mudeyes. |

It was quite late when I decided to go fishing so I didn't get a line in the water until mid afternoon. Sunny with a light southerly blowing. Water has dropped dramatically in the last couple of weeks making the banks very muddy and making it difficult to find some reasonable water away from the wall. The fish bit well, particularly the tiny redfin which were a real irritation. But between these little fellas there were three quite nice browns. Harcourt continues to produce fish but unless there's some serious rain soon, I wonder for how much longer. The water birds are having a feast. |

Very windy day but I was able to keep it behind me allowing me to hold my floats about where I wanted them. Only got four bites all day, (no problems with little reddies this week unlike my last visit), and dropped one on the way in. Harcourt is proving a nice diversion while my favourite spot, Dean Reservoir, is too low to fish. |
