13 April 2007, Luke
Location: Barwon River Time: Low tide
Type of Water: Estuary Type of Fishing: Shore
Target Fish: Australian salmon
Bait\Lure\Fly: Gillies, lures (silver wobblers)
Fish Caught: 1 x Australian salmon @ 15cm-20cm
4 x Australian salmon @ 46cm
Comments: Would have easily caught over 20 if I spent more time fishing instead of looking around the town (fist time here), beautiful place with great fishing. The 44cm salmon was a surpise because most people were getting the 15cm-20cm ones which were the average school-sized salmon. There was one other bloke who got one same size as mine, otherwise it was just regular school salmon and a lot of them were being caught, everyone was getting them.

14 January 2007, Peter Halliday
Location: Barwon River Time: 10am-12pm
Type of Water: Estuary Type of Fishing: Shore
Target Fish: Whiting, salmon, flathead
Bait\Lure\Fly: Pipis, whitebait
Fish Caught: 9 x whiting @ 30cm
2 x flathead @ 30cm
1 x salmon @ undersized
Comments: Fantastic day fishing with a catch typical to the Barwon River. The secret to our success was to constantly vary the size of out baits and to use only one rod so you can feel the bites.

18 November 2006, Darby
Location: Barwon River Time: 4pm-7.30pm
Type of Water: Estuary Type of Fishing: Pier
Target Fish: Salmon, flathead, bream
Bait\Lure\Fly: Pipis, whitebait, squid, crab
Fish Caught: 1 x salmon @ undersize
1 x flathead @ undersize
1 x flathead @ just size
10 x crabs @ ?
Comments: Tried up the river for no sucsess. Went to the bridge where there was only one other group of people. My brother got the 2 undersize fish and I got the size flatty. Half the time you won't notice if you have a fish or not because of all the cars, so check bait regularly here. Photos were taken, but not good enough to send in.
