Comments: Mouth opened 23 April after water rising to hotel phone box. Flood caused dirty water with small yellowfin bream coming in from the ocean. Hard to find fish, still beats work.

Comments: Caught heaps of small bream on the sand patches at the river mouth. All released.

Comments: Entrance open, clean water in lake. Fish caught throughout entire day. Almost half the fish taken with unweighted prawn. Most fish returned.

Fish Caught: 16 x bream
Comments: Fish hard to find at first but with perserverance we found a few. Threw a lot of just undersize fish back. Best results at the river mouth and about 100 metres into the entrance. Some good size bass/perch in the lake close to shore taking sandworm on float. Good fishing.

Comments: Loy Yang Fishing Club event run with 19 adults & 11 juniors. A GREAT WEEKEND HAD BY ALL.

7 to 11 June 2001, Dr Mack, JD, Jumbo, Craig
Location: Sydenham Inlet Time: 8am-4pm

Target Fish: Bream
Bait\Lure\Fly: Frozen local prawn and cut pilchards
Fish Caught: 40 x bream @ up to 42 cm
1 x eel @ 60 cm
Comments: Entrance open, water low and weedy, plenty of boats, needed to move constantly to find fish. Released plenty of fish just undersize. Fishing should improve when the inlet settles down.

18 & 19 May 2001, Ron Matthews

Comments: Windy conditions on both days. Hard work to get 8 fish. Lake level very high, anymore rain should see the entrance open to the sea. Still better than working!

Comments: Terrific fishing for 3 days, bagged out on 25th. Largest fish weighed in at 2lb 13oz. Two fisherman with grins from ear to ear!

Target Fish: Flathead, bream, garfish, estuary perch, bass
Bait\Lure\Fly: Live mullet, sandworm, frozen prawn
Fish Caught:
Comments: Bemm River is fishing very well at present. Flathead to 7lb being caught on live bait.
Bream to 2 1/2lb on frozen prawn and sandworm.
Entrance to ocean closed, water level high - good boating. Garfish in abundance in Swan Lake. Perch on lures in the river system. Bass further upstream.
Best results early morning/late afternoon. Kids catching mullet and bream off floating jetty under a float.
