Used to go here quite often given the large yellowbelly and redfin in here, but towards late 2009 early 2010 I noticed dozens of floating yellas and reddies. This would explain the lack of fish now!
Not sure if a disease killed the fish or if something was dumped in there as a lot of things are thrown from the cliffs above. Unfortunately now it seems that the fish life is all dead. |

Had 1 one other hook up, probably a smaller redfin, and other follow-ins by reddies. Have had at least 10 fishless trips, but finally have something to show from this place! All fish were released. |

Used a small Celta blade lure with red and black dots on the blade. Definitely fish in this lake. (See photo in Gallery section.) |

2 x yellowbelly @ 22cm and 19cm |

Well, I finally have something to report from this place - it's full of yellowbelly. I placed the redfin spinners below a heavy sinker and cast right out into the middle where you can see fish moving about. Took a few casts, but got two yellows within ten minutes of one another casting in different directions. All in all - the best fishing success I've had in freshwater around Melbourne. |

1 x redfin @ too small! |
| Comments: |
The yabbies were just getting caught in the weed even when I used a float. I stuck to spinners and thought I would have some luck after a yellowbelly jumped out and whacked itself against some rocks. Caught a tiny redfin over near the reeds on a spinner. It went back to grow into a real fish. |

I wasted far too long with the scrub worms and caught nothing but weed despite some very large fish jumping in the middle of the lake. I tried the Tassies and after an hour without one follow I was about to give up. I tried a cheapo redfin spinner and went over near some logs near the cliff. To my surprise I nearly hooked up twice with a huge yellow. There's fish in there alright! |
