Good couple of hours spent. No bites on worms or Powerbait, a fair few rainbows followed my Stump Jumper but no bites. Near the end we found a little hill and caught a small reddy. |

No bites, no fish moving, too late in the day. Might be OK in late afternoon. |

Only two bites for the day. Calembeen Park is an old quarry/mine that later became the Creswick Swimming pool/lake after the Gold Rush. It is also the home base for the Creswick Fishing Club who have stocked it with Rainbow Trout, Murray cod and golden perch. It also contains tench, carp and redfin. It is only a very small impoundment - similar to the lake at Daylesford. It gets fished daily by the locals and has BBQ & toilet facilities, etc. I have only fished there this one time so far... on the back of a rumour that an old guy had caught a 9 pound "yella" the week before. Although I had no luck there on Sunday, there was a fishing comp underway and I had the chance to meet a lovely old guy who went by the name of "Scrubbie" who turned out to be the guy who had caught the fish. He had photos to prove it as well. Kind regards, Shipsa. |
