Location: Cardinia Creek Time: 4pm-6:30 pm
Type of Water: River Type of Fishing: Shore
Target Fish: Trout
Bait\Lure\Fly: Worms maggots
Fish Caught:

1 x trout @ 18 cm
1 x trout @ 33 cm
1 x trout @ 36 cm

Comments: Fished the evening behind the beaconsfield milk bar, taking all trout on worms. The larger fish proved quite a handful, these fish provide quite good sport in such a small stream on light gear.

19 October 2003, Richard
Location: Berwick Springs Time: 11am-2pm
Type of Water: Lake Type of Fishing: Shore
Target Fish: Trout
Bait\Lure\Fly: Corn kernels, Tassie Devils, worms, grubs
Fish Caught:

1 x dirty stinking carp @ 10cm

Comments: Very quiet afternoon, landed 1 tiny carp on worm - got a few nibbles on corn but no bites with rest of bait. Very poor, it seems it's getting harder to get a trout! I think this dam might be due for restocking!

13 October 2003, Richard
Location: Berwick Springs Time: 6am-7am
Type of Water: Lake Type of Fishing: Shore
Target Fish: Trout
Bait\Lure\Fly: Grubs, worm, corn, Tassie Devils
Fish Caught:

2 x silver belly eels @ 50cm-60cm
1 x European carp @ 20cm

Comments: All fish caught under split shot weighted pencil floats. Caught the eel as soon as I dropped my line, then hooked the other eel within another 2 minutes, the last eel eating my float as well (true!), both eels caught on worms. Tried the Tassie Devils for a while - no bites, fished on the bottom for a while with a running sinker and no float - no bites, went back to another float and hooked the carp on corn just before I left - the eels were released and 'sorry carp' but he was chopped up and fed to the local wildlife. Oh well, maybe I'll catch some trout next time.

Location: Berwick Springs Time: 4.30pm-6.30pm
Type of Water: Lake Type of Fishing: Shore
Target Fish: Trout, carp
Bait\Lure\Fly: Corn kernels, Tassie Devils, worms
Fish Caught:

2 x trout @ 15cm-20cm

Comments: Both fish were caught on corn kernels under a float, worms produced plenty of nibbles/bites but the fish wouldn't take it. Both fish were released, hopefully other people will do this as well or this place will be fished out pretty quickly! If you want a decent sized, edible trout then visit Lake Eildon or somewhere like that, this lake is basically just a good sport fishing lake, I don't know if I would want to eat anything from out of this lake anyway... lol.
