Very windy when I arrived, could barley walk up the pier but then it calmed right down to a breeze so I started spinning. On the 4th cast I got whacked and I thought I had a salmon but it turned out to be a very big lazy snook around 1m long. As I got it closer to the pier it went around the bait rod and threw the lure. I ended up getting a few callamari and used the tentacles as bait but they got mauled by the local leatherjackets. I berlied up a few tommies with pilchards which someone next to me enjoyed catching but I didn't bother fishing for them. |

I caught 1 squid, the tommies, parrotfish and the whiting. The salmon and other squid were caught by 4 mates who came along. They were all caught on plastics. The tommies were caught on small pillie fillet and chicken pieces on 10lb line with running sinker rig (1oz bean) with 60cm 10lb f/c leader with a 4 owner light mutu circle. Whiting was caught on pillie fillet in the same area as tommies which is the lower landing on the RHS casting towards the point. Squid was caught on dropshot rig with jig about 2ft off bottom casting underneath the ramp on LHS.Only saw 2 salmon caught by other fishos and both were on pilchard/bluebait on paternoster rigs cast well out. I flicked a few SP's and had salmon chasing it and hit it a few times but couldn't get a hook set! Parrotish were caught on chicken casting a running sinker rig underneath the pier. As per usual, lorne produces a feed once again! |

Leon got the huge bream on half a prawn and it was was released right after a photo. Most other bream took gulp worms while I was wading the sand flats. The salmon are a pest in here. |

The quick fish proved well worth while as I hooked and landed that big bream. Im very happy about that, it took a squidgie wriggler. These plastics have been working very well for me back in Torquay and they seem to here as well. |
