Took the kids to the river about 2km upstream of the bridge, only very small customers. Released the whiting. The hook killed the salmon and one of the mullet. The other mullet went on as live bait - very optimistic. |

Fished over the 3 days in the kayak, about 0.5km upstream of Barwon Heads bridge. So many small fish to rip into baits. Had big fillet bait out, but taken by ray. Chased it in the kayak because I wanted to see what type it was but after an hour the 3kg line snapped, after getting down to the spool 3 times. Gave the abs a good workout though! Flatties and salmon were jumping on the Firebait soft plastic, which was fun. Actually caught the gurnard on the SP too. No big flatties but will try again! |

A bit of a disappointment. Tried at different times of the day and at all locations around Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads but we only got little nibbles from time to time but did not manage to hook up any. Decided to fish at Anglesea which was more productive. (See report for Anglesea). |
