Fished the incoming tide on Portsea back beach in heavy surf. Found a wonderful gutter that heralded plenty of fish over the two days, mostly around 30cm in length. Water movement was good and my dual paternoster and bomb sinker rig worked well. I changed to a star sinker when other anglers turned up to avoid unwanted tangles. Only kept a few to eat, the rest were tagged and released. Hopefully one day they'll be recaptured. Many anglers in the vancity were doing well. A wonderful couple of hours fishing. |

Had too wait a long time to catch the legal fish. Cross currents were extraordinary throughout the day, but we eventually enjoyed an abundant 25 minutes of high quality fishing. Looks like I will be heading back shortly. |

Fished the incoming tide and got all fish aroud the three quarter mark of the top of the tide. Got a little tough at the top of the tide as rough waves were all over us. The fishing good until the weed came through. Then went to Portsea Pier and bagged out on squid. All aroung 30 cm. Good day out... |
