Was bait fishing for mullet, but no luck with them either, however had a surf rod in with float 2 meters down with a pilchard. Hooked either a very large whiting or a snook, lost it on the retrieve sadly. Going back Saturday. Plenty of puffer fish in the water and saw a few garfish jump. Top end near the breakwater, facing Frankston side.

Great session - mixed bag. Saw over 50 fish being landed - everyone was having a magic time! Get out there and wet a line, sink a few stubbies and forget about the stresses.

The pier was packed but I was very shocked the snapper and the trevally that we caught they were really big. I was also surprised that we caught them at St Kilda pier.

2 x banjo sharks @ medium
2 x pinkies @ 20cm (released)
Comments:

Hit the pier after work with mate Matt and Koombaro George. Fired up 7pm-8pm with a school of snapper coming through. We were busted off 3 times by good sized fish landing 1 snapper near 3kg and 54cm. Had a ball and all took full blue baits on 4/0 hooks. Wind was blowing 20 knts south westerley, 1m waves and low tide at 6.30pm. Pier was empty, not many fishermen which was surprising. My biggest snapper off a pier by far.
