Location: Wye River Time: 1pm-5pm
Type of Water: Ocean Type of Fishing: Rocks
Target Fish: Salmon, trevally, snapper
Bait\Lure\Fly: Bluebait, squid
Fish Caught: None
Comments: Big seas. Only a couple of decent bites when casting way out. Had to stop around 5pm as the swell was coming over the rocks. With high tide around 8pm it was looking very risky to stay. Don't often leave this spot without fish. Next time!

1 x Port Jackson shark @ 6kg?
1 x banjo shark @ 3kg?
1 x flathead @ 29cm
Comments: Fished over the high tide at 11am. Lost lots of salmon as they were frantic upon being hooked. Never seen them so active, everyone jumped on retreive. Aslo got to see a pod of about 15 killer whales 5km off the rocks feeding for about 10 minutes. All fish were full of krill, and the 'couta had parasites (good bait though). Comments: Went fishing about 5km before Wye River. Was a wonderful day, weather was warm but overcast, was very quiet until the high tide started coming in then had a 20 min period of top fishing then quiet again. So just after lunch decided to go and fish Jump Rock which is about 2km before you reach Lorne. Fishing was OK here but needed berley as we didn't get much but another guy fishing there was using berley and he got a few fish. Great day was had fishing away from the rat race of everyday life, good fishing to you all.

Type of Water: Ocean Type of Fishing: Rocks
Target Fish: Salmon
Bait\Lure\Fly: Wonder Pilchard 100gram
Fish Caught: 1 x Salmon @ 25cm
Comments: Hooked up 2 x Salmon at 1 kg plus, but threw hooks. The only one I landed was a greedy guts 25cm which was returned. The lure was almost half the length of fish! Speared a 1.5kg Kelpfish whilst diving the day after about 200m away from Sturt Point.

Location: Wye River Time: 1.30pm-3.30pm
Type of Water: Ocean Type of Fishing: Rocks
Target Fish: Salmon
Bait\Lure\Fly: Pilchard
Fish Caught: 1 x salmon @ 30cm
1 x salmon @ 50cm
Comments: Fished off the rocks in wet and wild weather. Day 1 produced my first ever salmon at 30cm. Day 2 produced 1 50cm salmon weighing in at 1.5kg. What a thrill that was. Used a half pilchard on a paternoster rig. To get to the spot drive past the Wye River pub about 500m. There is a Telstra station. Just below is the fishing spot. I fished on the two hours before high tide. No place for children and you need to keep your eye on the surf. Great meal at the pub too.
