Two chances but no result, from Andy

From: Andy

I was fishing at Hutt Gully on the surf coast on Good Friday, not having a real lot of action, when I felt a decent bite.

I had set the hook and started retreiving the fish (which I thought had some size about it). After a short battle I had the fish in the shorebreakers and went to investigate what it was, I caught a glimpse of its tail and it was a nice little gummy shark (4-5ft).

It was at this stage that I realised that it had dislodged the hook, but I could still see it sitting in the shallows so I went over to it and just wrapped my legs around its tail, thinking I could pick it up once a small wave had receeded.

Unfortunately though as this wave came through it knocked my off balance slightly, separating my legs and you can guess what happend next, shark was no longer to be seen.

I am sure the whole of the surf coast would have heard my dissapointment, oh well that's fishing I guess.
