Some Strange Catches at Dartmouth
From: Wrinklybob
On our last trip to Dartmouth I experienced the weirdest fishing display of my long lifetime.
We were drifting quietly after a spell of trolling. Suddenly my German brother- in-law Otto took a tumble head first over the side.
We were all struck speechless.
As we stared at the surface where he had disappeared a hand emerged from the water holding a pair of sunglasses. Next emerged Otto's head.
"Hold these", he cried as he submerged again. Next thing to appear was a hand holding a shoe. Then a water logged Otto appeared again and grabbed the side of the boat.
He gasped, "My sunglasses fell in and I had to save them, as I came up one of my shoes came off and I had to dive again".
The three of us still in the boat nearly all fell in as we tried to control our laughter. As we did not know the size limits for sunglasses and shoes we kept them both.
Definitely my strangest fishing trip and one I will always remember.
