Trout & Salmon Regulations - Unlisted Lakes & Impoundments Print E-mail
The boundary between a lake and a river is the point at which the flowing water of the river meets the backed up waters of the lake, regardless of the water level of the lake.

JUMP TO TROUT & SALMON REGULATIONS FOR:
- Small Waters
- Stocked Lakes & Impoundments
- Tailrace Rivers
- Sea-run Trout Rivers
- Other Streams
- Back to main page

MINIMUM LEGAL SIZE: no minimum.
BAG LIMIT: 10 salmonids per day.
CLOSED SEASON: no.

These regulations apply to any water not identified in these groups:

  • stocked lakes and impoundments;
  • small waters.

This category includes lakes and impoundments that contain self-sustaining populations of salmonids, such as Lake Dartmouth, Pretty Valley Reservoir and Rocky Valley Reservoir.

Tightly limiting the take of small salmonids in these types of waters is inappropriate because they contain populations dominated by small fish.
