With
the ling, rock cod are one of the two main, true members of the cod
family found in southern Australian waters. Fish such as Murray cod,
black rock cod, blue cod, coral cod, scorpion cod, spotted cod and
humpback cod, to name a few, are not cod at all but members of other
families. Along with the ling and the rock cod, true members of the cod
family in Europe include haddock, hake and English whiting (no relation
to Australian whiting).
SIZE: Can grow to 0.5 metre.
EATING: Not considered good eating fish.
