  AKA: Australian perch, freshwater perch.
MINIMUM LEGAL SIZE: 25cm.
BAG/POSSESSION LIMIT: 10 (of which no more than 2 fish can be Australian bass).
Note: a total bag/possession limit of 40 fish applies to all scale fish species.
Found in brackish freshwaters around the Victorian coast, the estuary perch is similar to bass in appearance.
WHERE: Brackish coastal freshwater, particularly around snags and creek mouths.
TACKLE: Light river/estuary tackle.
BAIT: Live prawns, worms, crickets, crabs as well as trolled or cast lures and flies.
EATING: A very passable meal after a long day with the rod.
