Shark, gummy Print E-mail

AKA: sweet william shark, spotted dogfish, gummy and mango (NZ).
MINIMUM LEGAL SIZE:
45cm (partial length).
BAG/POSSESSION LIMIT: a total limit of 2 for gummy shark and/or school shark. Landed whole or as a carcass.

A harmless member of the shark family, gummy sharks have smooth flattened teeth with which to crush crabs, shrimps and shellfish they find on smooth sea bottoms. Of slim build and smooth skin they are closely related to the whiskery shark which has a thicker body.

EATING: Good table qualities.
